{LIFE} FREE Amazon Prime for 6 months!

I know that for some of us school is approaching soon. I just want to share with you guys a really helpful service from Amazon that I've been using for the past couple of weeks to order things for school such as textbooks, notebooks, laptop accessories, etc. If you're going back to school soon you probably have a school email address that you're given. Using that email address you can sign up for Amazon Prime for free! You get your first six months free which means free 2-day shipping on all eligible products. This is insanely useful because instead of waiting a week to a month sometimes you get your products in two business days. I have ordered so much stuff and every time it has been delivered on time. I really recommend you guys sign up for this service since it's free. You can go here to sign up or click below!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info?ie=UTF8&refcust=2WV6OC54VYCZ27E3KCUZMS2NKM&ref_type=generic

To ensure that you don't get charged after your 6 months are over you can cancel your service immediately. If you need help doing so, let me know! I just cancelled my future service today so I will have until February 2nd, 2015 and then my free Prime membership will expire.

To sign up all you need is a school email address that ends in .edu. Once you sign up they will send you a confirmation link to your school email address that you click on and ta-da! Your membership is activated. In addition to free 2-day shipping you also get many college student deals, plus if/when you do decide to pay for your membership students get 50% off making it only $49 for year-long membership. And if you don't want to pay for your membership, that's fine, but you should still sign up to get the free 6 months! You have nothing to lose and honestly it's incredibly useful. If you're in high school this is still really useful. I know when I was in high school we were given school email addresses. You might as well make use of it!

{GETS} VS/PINK haul!

So I went shopping last week and stopped by Victoria's Secret/PINK to get my free no show panty but I ended up buying a bunch of stuff. I'm really happy with my purchase though!

I ended up spending $80 total and they were having one of those deals where if you spend a certain amount you get something free with your purchase. This time it was a free getaway bag if you spend $75+. The getaway bag is retailed at $99 so it's definitely worth it if you're already buying stuff from them.

I got two lightly lined bras for $42 and my free no show panty ($9.50 at full price). If you don't feel like buying two they are $31 each I believe. The lightly lined bras from PINK are my favorite bras! They're incredibly comfortable and very smooth. I used to only buy push up bras but I've been transitioning to lightly lined/unlined bras. They are the most comfortable fit in my opinion! If you haven't signed up for PINK nation yet, you definitely should! They often mail you coupons for free panties which is always nice. There's no such thing as too much underwear in my opinion.

Next thing I got was a backpack for $50, which yes I know is pretty pricey. The most I've ever spent for a backpack before was $40, but I really liked the style of this one so I went for it. I loooooooove anything leopard print, I think it's incredibly sassy and cute! This backpack has three compartments and a laptop sleeve on the inside of the main compartment. There's a lot of space and I'm very excited to use this for my first year of college!

Like I said, if you spend $75+ you get a free getaway bag! I really love this bag; I think it's insanely useful! You could use it for vacations, the gym, sleepovers, etc. I used it for camp and it fit all my toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, contact lens solution, glasses, etc.), a comforter, sheets, and 4 days/3 nights worth of clothes, so yes it is very big. I wouldn't ever buy it for $99 but since I was already buying the other stuff it was really nice to get this as a bonus.

Well that's it for this haul, I'm in the process of editing my next haul post (yeah, I shop a lot for a broke college kid lol). I hope you guys liked this post! Let me know what you think in the comments.

{DIY} American flag shorts

So I was commissioned to make these shorts for a classmate last summer and I've finally gotten around to making a DIY post on them. These shorts are super easy to make, all you need are a few things!

Materials:

  • pair of white shorts
  • blue and red fabric paint
  • paint brush
  • (optional) masking tape
  • star/square studs

Basically tape off the areas you want to keep white. All areas marked with an A are the areas I taped off to keep white. All areas marked with a B I used the red fabric paint and all areas marked C I used the blue fabric paint on. After you let the paint dry you can then add whatever studs you want! This is actually a really easy project to do. If you try it, let me know what your results are!

{REVIEW} Geo Tricolor / Angel Color / World Color Brown from Shoppingholics!

I don't know if you guys have been keeping up (since I've been on and off) but a couple months ago I got some new circle lenses! Today I have a review for the Geo Tri Color brown lenses! I already have the grey pair, which I really love, so I was super excited to try these!

Color: 5/5
These are so so pretty! I fell in love with the color right when I put them on. These are definitely more on the natural side too.
Comfort: 4/5
Very comfortable. I wear them for maybe 6-8 hrs a day and don't really need eye drops.
Enlargement: 0/5
Being 14.00mm, they really don't enlarge.
Overall: 4/5

I love these lenses so much! They're one of my favorite pairs I've owned so far. You can get them here.

{WANT} first wants post!

Lately I've been seeing things that make me say "wow I really want that, I should totally save up for it!" but when I finally get enough money for those things, I spend it on other stuff because I've forgotten what I wanted in the first place! I think it's great to have things down on a list because it helps you keep track of where you are and it's like having mini goals! So here are some things I'm currently saving up for!
omg there's so much to love about this pair of shoes for me. It's black. It's comfortable. It's so versatile. And it's VELVET! I'm so in love with velvet anything. I can see myself wearing these with so many things in my closet right now.

I love this case so much. I'm really in love with the skull, but I also really like the floral design in the background. It takes away a little bit of the creepiness the skull gives off without ruining the design.

UGHHHHH. I keep seeing this hat all over tumblr and I get a little frustrated that it's not in my possession. I want it sooooo bad. It's just...perfect.

Okay, that's all for this post ~ let me know if you guys like these and I'll try to do them more often! See ya ~ <3 p="p">

{GETS} recent eBay buys!!

Hi guys!! It's been so long! I wasn't expecting to drop blogging after starting school. But it happened. What can you do, you know ~. Anyways I'm back with a short little post showing you guys some of the things I've bought from eBay since August.

First of all, when I got my new phone I went a little crazy for cases. I've always wanted an iPhone for a) the internet and b) the phone cases! So I kind of bought a whole bunch. This isn't even all of it, but since this is specifically an ebay post I'll just show the ones I got from there. And then I also bought a pair of bows, a backpack, and a case for my new iPad mini (which I'm in love with. I'm working on an iPad/iPhone apps post for you guys)!!

Hope you guys enjoy ~ I've included links to the exact items I bought (or at least the ones still up) so you guys can check them out on ebay! If there aren't any links try searching for them. Sorry I can't provide links to all! eBay doesn't give me access to all the past items I've bought...

pastel pink KoKo Cat iPhone 4 case

baby pink KiKi Kitty iPhone 4 case

bread scented bun iPhone 4 case. very fragile. mine is ripped in 3 places because I wasn't careful with it.

bumper cases. these are actually really protective (around the sides).

pink melty choco case. one of my faves!!

blue Mong monkey case. my sister said this one jammed her lock button! be aware before you buy it

black KoKo Cat case. super cute. I really love cat cases.

cute and creepy red leatherette eyeball bow clips. these are super cute. I love them! <3 p="p">

{REVIEW} Geo Tricolor / Angel Color / World Color Grey from Shoppingholics!

THIS POST IS NOT SPONSORED. I PURCHASED EVERYTHING ON MY OWN.

packaging!! everything was packaged very nicely! <3 td="td">

cute little notes ~

everything they sent me! All I ordered were the lenses in the boxes! Everything else they sent me for free!!!

the pairs I ordered! guess what they are!

opened the grey ones first and put them in the grey case

with flash

natural light

Color: 5/5 these are soooo pretty in person! I've gotten so many compliments on these!
Design: 4/5 the design is very nice and it blends in well
Enlargement: 3/5 they're 14.00mm so they're not supposed to make your eyes look that much bigger. Even so, these still make my eyes just a little bit bigger.
Comfort: 4/5 I get discomfort after maybe 6 hours of wear, but I always carry eye drops around with me so no worries.

I honestly love this pair. I've been wearing these for a little over 2 weeks now. At first I was afraid it'd make my eyes too light and I'd look phantom-like, but when I put them in they looked so nice and natural. I wear these every day and as long as I wash my hands before putting them in, they go in easily without discomfort.

Now onto the store review! I cannot express how much I LOVE Shoppingholics!! This was my first time ordering from them and they have excellent service! I have ordered from other places and they cannot compare to Shoppingholics. I just...can't. I was so happy when I opened my package because EVERYTHING was packed nicely. Every. Thing. Nothing was broken and I didn't have to worry about a thing. When I first ordered them I was worried that they'd break on the way here or overheat in this Texas weather. But none of that happened! I did have to go pick up my package (or I could've had it redelivered, but I was too excited). AND I GOT SO MUCH FREE STUFF WTF. NOTHING MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN FREE THINGS. They gave me two animal cases (which match with my lenses; coincidence or whaaaat? I think not c; ), a pack of TWO pink dariya hair sheets, another pack of blue hair sheets, and also a golden collagen eye mask. Crazy or what?! For me to buy one of those hair sheets is like $5 each here. Then the cases are like $3 here. And then the eye mask is like $2. THEY SENT ME $15 IN FREE STUFF. OMFG. YOU GUYS. How can you resist now?

Hope you enjoyed this post ~ I know it's been a while since I've blogged.

{NOTW} first NOTW! lilac tips

colors I used

start with bare nails
paint your base coat; I used Julep's Emma on my nails -- it's a nudy slightly sparkly color
put your tape in place as your guide
paint your tips with your color of choice; I used Julep's Renee
slowly take off your tape
apply a top coat, clean up a bit and you're done!
Yay, my first NOTW post! It's been a couple months since I've painted my nails, actually maybe 3 months to be more precise. Quite a while, huh? I've been letting my nails heal from my excessive painting the past couple years (literally had polish on 6/7 days of the week). Yeah, I kind of neglected taking care of my nails for quite a while...

Well, since it's been a while since I've done anything with my nails, I thought I'd do something simple but pretty. Aaaaaand since my new Julep polishes came in, I figured I'd use those! Overall I really like these nails ~ next time I'll try something more difficult, but for now enjoy these ~

Oh, I would like to show some of my past nail designs to you guys. But not today, maybe tomorrow or the day after. I need to get all the pictures together first ; o;

Okay, that's all ~ now I'm going to go and start on my blog header then I'll be off to bed. Good night <3 div="div">

{REVIEW} Nail polish for A PENNY?!?!

That's right, A PENNY! Can't believe it, right? Neither could I, hehe!! All you girls are gonna love this deal ~ first I'll jump into the review.

my box came!! it only took four days
welcome note
I got the "American Beauty" intro box
what's this? a bag within a box? whaaaaaaat??
contents of the box
inside the bag
dum dum dah dah!! nail polish is nicely wrapped in bubble wrap
omg so pretty!!!
swatch #1: Renee, one coat
swatch #2: Emma, top--one coat; bottom--two coats
Overall, I really like these polishes. The colors are beautiful and I don't have to put gobs on like I do with my drugstore brand polishes. Quality-wise, these are as good as, if not better than, OPI polishes. The only problem I have is how small the bottles are!! You get half the amount of normal polishes. At $15 for each bottle it's pretty damn pricey. But if you get the boxes instead you get a better deal!! I believe you get 2-3 polishes for only $20!! Much better than spending $15 on one bottle of polish.

So now you're probably wondering how it was possible to get two polishes AND a pedi cream for only one cent, including shipping. Well, that's easy! Go to Julep, take the style quiz, and then use the code "MAVENINTRO" at checkout to get your first intro box for a penny, plus get free shipping!! Amazing deal, right?

Before you get started, I feel there are some things I need to tell you. Julep is one of those subscription type things, almost like subscribing to a magazine. What does that mean? Well it basically means you sign up for their monthly box they will send you. Every month they ship you a new box with products. When they do this they will charge you the 27th of each month. If you don't like the month's box you can choose to skip the month and the bill between the 20th and 24th. You'll get an e-mail the 20th of every month reminding you that you've subscribed and that they will bill you the 27th, if you choose to get that month's box. Easy, right? And if you don't want to stay subscribed you can easily cancel your membership and still keep what you've gotten.

Well, what are you waiting for?
